Making the Ministry Of Stories podcast

MATT WRITES: I've been volunteering with the Ministry of Stories for a few years now. The east London charity supports children in Hackney, through a wonderful monster shop facade leading to a very busy story centre.

Mostly I've been helping recording and mixing stories, which were usually burned onto CD for the children and their parents to enjoy. But recently they asked if they could do a podcast.

The result is now live: ten stories by children aged eight and over, recorded at the Ministry and at Penguin Random House, who also offered production support.

It was genuinely exciting to hear each story as it was recorded, and described how they wanted to use sound effects in the final episode. I hope that the soundtracks I've produced come close to realising their wonderfully ambitious and creative scripts.

You can binge on the first ten episodes here, with more added weekly.
